System architecture

Structural decisions made explicitly: where boundaries sit, how services communicate, which data is authoritative, and what happens when a component is unavailable. Architecture work is delivered as written documentation alongside diagrams, not as a verbal agreement.

API development and system integration

Interfaces that let existing systems exchange data reliably. We define contracts first, version them deliberately, and handle the unglamorous parts of integration properly: retries, idempotency, partial failures and reconciliation.

UI/UX implementation

Translating design intent into working interfaces without losing detail. We implement layouts as responsive systems rather than fixed screens, keep interaction states consistent, and verify behaviour with keyboard navigation and screen-reader semantics.

Software modernisation

Bringing older systems into a maintainable state without a risky rewrite. Typically this means characterising current behaviour with tests, isolating parts behind clear interfaces, and replacing them incrementally while the system stays in service.

Quality assurance

Testing arranged so that it catches the failures that actually occur. Unit tests protect logic, integration tests protect boundaries, and end-to-end checks cover the few flows whose breakage would be most damaging.

Security-focused engineering

Technical consulting

Independent assessment when a decision is expensive to reverse: platform selection, build-versus-integrate questions, scaling constraints, or a second opinion on a proposed architecture. Findings are delivered in writing with the reasoning included.

How engagements run

Scope, build, verify, hand over

Before implementation begins we agree what the work should produce and how completion will be judged. Progress is visible in the repository rather than reported second-hand, and every increment is reviewed and tested before it reaches production.

Documentation, deployment instructions and operational notes are written during the work, so the system can be maintained by whoever owns it afterwards.
